REVENGE of the Weekly New Releases Mailer!!!

We were honored to be called a “Gem of San Antonio” by UTSA’s journalist Christopher Delgado, who wrote an article about our recent decision to downsize to Broadway.

And more amazingly, PTR’s first comic story produced for another publisher with full licensing of Stephen Bissette’s half of the “1963” image universe is finally seeing print and is up for preorder direct from the LA-based publisher, Cosmic Lion Productions!

If you’ve read that letter column from 1963 #2 about the Chrysler building explosion… well, you’ll be well prepped to enjoy his story! Hyper-naut, N-Man, the Voidoid, and MORE all have another story in their first appearance since Shadowhawk #14!!!

My personal pick of the week! Jeff Parker doesn’t write enough comics, which is another way of saying every one he still writes is worth reading.

the third print arrives! Second prints were on deadline before #1 released, and we THOUGHT 100+ copies of Absolute Batman #1 was enough and declined 2nd prints when unsure how the first release would go… and finally I can say we have the current printing in stock.

Sure, Black Canary is a Tom King written book, which is a good reason to check it out.
But it’s also a Ryan Sook drawn book! Like Jeff Parker… we don’t see enough Ryan Sook art. I remember when he started on some BPRD and reviewers said he was a worthy competitor to Mignola. His style developed in a very interesting divergence from the heavy chiaroscuro that likened him to Hellboy’s creator in early drawings to the memorable facial expressions that make me compare his work more to Kevin Maguire now.

Mark Waid and Dan Mora following up Absolute Power with JLU! I feel like you either want this or don’t… but then I got to shout out the Hush 2 prelude story (not a preview, a full, if short, story with art by Jim Lee), and it feels like almost everyone is gonna check this out, this week, based on a rise of preorders we saw of it.
